This intervention adopted the format of a carnival, as a collective procession of celebration, but to investigate processes of consumption within the city. The carro de cafezinho was playing a soundwork of recordings made at the Feira de São Joaquim, one of the general food markets and a group of people followed the carro picking up trash from the floor. The path followed was one of the traditional carnival routes from Barra to Ondina and the bags for collecting the trash were labeled with the words “comi Salvador” and “Urbanofagia” As Salvador has a vast food culture on the streets, this intervention aimed to trace and investigate the process this food undergoes from origin to waste and what impact it has on the experience of the city.
